
Rick Lindroth, Distinguished Fellow, Lumen Center
Dr. Richard (Rick) Lindroth retired the summer of 2023 from the UW-Madison Department of Entomology after 37 years of a highly successful career as a celebrated chemical ecologist. His research interests included global environmental change, trophic interactions, forest ecology and evolutionary ecology. Rick and his research group published nearly 250 journal articles and book chapters. He received numerous scholarly awards, including a Fulbright Fellowship, the Kellett Mid-Career Award, the ISCE Silverstein-Simeone Award, a Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professorship, and the UW-Madison Hilldale Award in Biological Sciences. He is an elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Ecological Society of America, the Entomological Society of America and the American Scientific Affiliation. During 2010-2016, he also served as Associate Dean for Research. Rick’s interests in environmental stewardship were profiled in The Washington Post on Easter 2022.
